Granville. Studied Painting, Art History, Textile and General Design. Began painting with serious intent 1965/66. Held first exhibition at the Playhouse Theatre, Liverpool 1967, with another solo show at the Colin Jellicoe Gallery the following year. Early inspiration was taken from the street life of Liverpool with prominence given to market traders and the daily activities of the docks around Birkenhead. Over the years changes in artistic direction has enabled a broader spectrum in both artistic expression and subject.
From 1984 to virtually the present day, inspiration was derived from Spain and all things Spanish. Now the paintings have almost come full-circle finding new life and fresh inspiration in the street life of Liverpool. This time, however, with more emphasis on the social activities of the population. This can best be seen in the blossoming ‘Café’ series. Involved in more than eighty solo and group exhibitions in the United Kingdom, France, Germany, Spain and USA. Works in many private and public collections throughout the world.
